6.2.12

Usually, I hate mondays (who doesn't), specially after a hard weekend which I'm not gonna talk about today.

What I can tell you, is that, whenever things get bad, by that I mean, life in general... it's always YOUR CHOICE to be sad and stay that way, 'cause you can choose to be depressed and miserable or you can choose to be happy, you can choose to be blessed and receive God's forgiveness when the sun rises or you can choose to drown yourself in pain and keep feeling like that. It's your choice... everything is your choice.

Today, I choose to be happy, to be blessed, to be renewed by God's word and forgiveness, I choose to be his daughter, I choose to to feel loved, I choose to feel better even if things don't seem to be fine, I choose to love him, I choose to live my life to the fullest, I choose to BELIEVE what his word says, I choose to LIVE.

So, this morning, I decided to make me feel better... it all starts like this:

A good cup of coffee (2 on my count)

Blueberry granola bar

Watch Adele's full blu-ray "Albert Hall concert"

Isn't she stunning?

Beautiful sky. Beautiful view from the balcony.

And a funny cow...

I choose to be blessed in ordinary days.

Compassion it is called.

16.12.11
Compassion is sometimes the fatal capacity for feeling what it is like to live inside somebody else's skin. It is the knowledge that there can never really be any peace and joy for me until there is peace and joy finally for you too.” - Frederick Buechner.

As Christians, we are called to obey the Lord's word, by feeding the hungry, visiting the widows and taking care of the sick ones and orphans. Not many of us take that seriously, and it is not Christian just to go to church and warm the benches. God calls us to work, to evangelize, to have compassion for those who suffer... and so I'm starting to take action in all of that.

Since I was a little girl, I wanted to donate my hair to a child with no hair because of the cancer in his (or her) body. My dad would always say no because he just loved to see me with my long long hair, big wavy blonde curls. But now that I'm 21, I make my own decisions but always ask for their opinion and consent. And to be honest, I had to beg him 2 weeks so I could do it, because you know, even though I'm a big girl now, he's still my dad and the Lord demands me to OBEY my parents and to honour them in all times and situations.

So.. I DID IT! I let it grow for about 7 months, it got all the way down to my butt (hee!) and had 13 inches of beautiful well treated long hair to donate. I was just so happy to do it, I had long hair my whole life and it was time for a change and the best part was that I did it for a very good cause :) I researched a little bit before I could donate it, and finally found a foundation that I thought it was worth it and contacted them so I could give my hair to them!

Let me tell you this: this has been (so far) one of the most regarding experiences I've had in my life. It didn't hurt (just a tiny bit) and it felt so so great to be able to do it. I went to the salon and explained my stylist how I wanted my new hair, and so she braided my long hair and cut exactly 13 inches. That was our goodbye, we had good moment my long hair and I, but on the other hand, I just LOOOVE the new look and LOOOVE the cause is going to go :) I feel fresh, light and the best part is that I wash my hair in like 2 minutes and bursh it in like 30 seconds. So, here are some pictures so you can see the change!

Note: when I gave the braid to Marcella (the founder) she explained to me that once they had the wig done, I WAS THE ONE who would give it to the person who's gonna wear it... oh my gosh, I couldn't be MORE excited! and now I just can't wait. I'm just SO thankful with God to let me experience this in my own skin, to help others because he helps me. I adore him with all my heart, sould and body!

Before... see, it was so long it didn't even fit the picture frame :S
13 inches!!

The Choice by Julia H.

30.10.11

This is just EXACTLY what I want for my life... The mother I want to become.

The Choice - by Julia

For I hope that I will always choose to not let the chance pass me by.
  • I hope that someday when I have the choice, I will choose to kiss your spaghetti-covered face instead of waiting until it is washed.
  • I hope that someday when I have the choice, I will choose to hold your hand instead of the camera.
  • I hope that someday when I have the choice, I will choose to rock you to sleep instead of sending you back to bed alone.
  • I hope that someday when I have the choice, I will choose to play dress-up with you instead of working on my ‘To-Do List’.
  • I hope that someday when I have the choice, I will choose to treasure the moment instead of wishing for better timing.
  • I hope that someday when I have the choice, I will choose to smile at your painting instead of frowning at the stain on your shirt .
  • I hope that someday when I have the choice, I will choose to read your favorite book for the 100th time instead of insisting we pick out a different one.
  • I hope that someday when I have the choice, I will choose to give you ‘now’ instead of promising ‘later’.
  • I hope that someday when I have the choice, I will choose to be your best friend instead of just being ‘the mom’.
  • I hope that someday when I have the choice, I will choose to listen to you instead of talking myself.
  • I hope that someday when I have the choice, I will choose to say “I love you” instead of giving unneeded lectures.
  • I hope that someday when I have the choice, I will choose to help you face obstacles instead of allowing you to be daunted by them.
  • I hope that someday when I have the choice, I will choose to build unshakable bridges between us instead of impregnable walls.
  • I hope that someday when I have the choice, I will choose to tell you “I’m glad I chose you.” instead of leaving you to wonder.

9.10.11
Well, hello there!

After weeks of silence I finally can sit and write :) I can't say that I haven't missed it, but is just that I really didn't want to blog without pictures this time... and since my camera is broken and I don't have any, well, you do the math.

Life
Is busier than ever but really REALLY fun and uplifting. Loving my "university years", loving my classmates (that I can call FRIENDS) and basically just loving my life as it is right now. I've had problems with a couple of things here and there but there's absolutely nothing in this life that God, faith in him, prayer and time cannot fix, and I think that's one of the reasons I haven't blogged in a long time. So, here I go, with numbers :)

1. Friends.

I love my girlies :) we were at the top of the city there, one of
the most beautiful sunsets I've seen in my entire life.

The bestie :)

And oh... I could go on and on about Pinterest... I'm in love.

6. "El Barco"

Last but not least... I'm SO, SO, SO, SOOOO hooked up with "El Barco", it's a Spanish t.v. series. It's about the "end of the world" as the boat "Estrella Polar" is out in the wide seas. Between love stories, tragedies and awesome stories, you are officially obsessed with this. And also, I'm in love with him:

Could he be any more handsome, cuter and drop dead gorgeous? I tell you, if you don't "like him" at first sight, well... you should just see his movies and this series I'm telling you about. Then, if you don't fall for him, I don't know you anymore.. jk! but he's too much!

To watch the whole first season (and the first 5 chapters of the second season) you can go HERE, please, enjoy!

And that's it for today folks! see you in a while!
